Find out why working with Edison Ford IFAs is quite different to the experience you might have with the average financial adviser or mortgage broker.
John Moon
Managing Director
John started Edison Ford (then Edison Associates) in 1992. He remains the Managing Director responsible for all aspects of the business. John has in-depth knowledge of investment property, business consultancy and commercial mortgages, with over 40 years experience in these fields, both commercially and personally.
Much of John’s time is currently spent counselling individuals and businesses, helping them to simplify their problems and issues. John has an ability to quickly get to the heart of a problem, eliminating the confusion and seemingly endless variables which prevent so many people going forward. John commenced his career with NatWest in 1973 and became a commercial lending specialist. John is an accomplished writer and public speaker with numerous radio, TV, commentating and media appearances to his credit. He has recently completed his first book, ‘How To Make Something From Nothing’ giving valuable insights into building wealth from property.
John has found clients appreciate being able to discuss their often complex financial affairs with someone who has personal experience in managing their own portfolio and can therefore give ‘real world’, practical and understandable advice.
Qualifications: FPC, ACIB, CMS
Jackie Crockett
IFA Consultant
Jackie, John’s sister, is at the heart of the business and the person who makes things happen for Edison Ford IFAs many clients. Her knowledge of the ‘Buy to Let’ and ‘Equity Release’ markets is unrivalled, helped by her practical hands on experience of building her own property portfolio.
Jackie joined NatWest bank in 1976 where she developed her career over the following 15 years. Her specialisations were personal lending and perfection of property security, both of which have stood her in good stead in the mortgage market. Jackie then ran her own filling station business for 5 years, where she developed a formidable commercial sense, before joining Edison Ford in 1997, bringing with her an extensive knowledge of commercial finance and business matters.
Jackie is one of the few female IFAs in the country who not only holds the Equity Release qualification but also the advanced CeMap qualification (covering the more complex aspects of residential and commercial lending) and the Certificate in Regulated Customer Care.
There are very few practices in the South West offering Equity Release advice ‘in house’ and Jackie has the patience and expertise to spend as much time as is needed to help clients understand whether this sometimes misunderstood product is right for them.
Jackie has been a winner of the ‘Mystery Shopper’ evaluation in Financial Adviser magazine. Jackie’s main love (besides her husband!) is horses.
Qualifications: FPC, CMS, Adv CeMAP, CeRCC
